FAQ ABOUT OUR BASEBALL/SOFTBALL LEAGUE
What is the North Canadian Athletic Association?
We are a league that is comprised of multiple complexes. We oversee baseball/softball and basketball for these complexes.
What complexes play through us? For baseball and softball, we have complexes from Asher, Bethel, Dale, Little Axe, Shawnee (Firelake), and Tecumseh.
Where will games be?
Games could be at any of our 6 complexes. Example: If you sign-up through Dale, you will have home games at Dale and away games could be Asher, Bethel, Little Axe, Shawnee (Firelake) or Tecumseh.
How do I get my child involved in this league?
Contact your local complex for sign-up information. The N.C.A.A. does not hold registration. We just oversee the league. Most local complexes have a Facebook page with this information.
How do we know what complex we need to sign-up through?
Typically people choose whichever complex is closest to their home or school. Remember games could be played at any complex but home games will be at the complex your team is signed up through.
Where do I find rules or other information about the league?
When will we know what days we play on?
This information is tough because of how our league is organized. We have multiple teams and multiple locations so we typically need to wait until preseason tournament to narrow down those days. Days played are either Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays. We play makeup games on Wednesdays or Fridays.
Do I have to play in the preseason tournament?
Preseason is a required tournament for all teams to play in. Boys will play April 5-7 and girls will play April 12-14 (Dates are subject to change due to weather or other situations)
When will brackets be out for preseason tournament?
Brackets will be posted by Wednesday of the week of the tournament. Please do not message us asking for requests as we have too many teams to field these requests.
When will the schedule come out?
The schedule will not be released until no earlier than the Friday after preseason tournament for boys. Please be patient as a lot of work has to go into making the schedule.
Why are you not having a postseason tournament?
Due to many teams dropping out of the postseason tournament every year, we voted on switching the tournament to a mid-season tournament. This will allow teams to still get a tournament but be while regular season is still happening.
What do I do if I need to forfeit a game?
Contact your local coordinator 24 hours prior to the game. If you wait until close to game time or no show, your team will be responsible for umpire fees for both games including if there are 2 umpires for each game as our umpires are already scheduled to be there.
How will I know about cancelled games?
Watch our Facebook page and your local complexes Facebook page. We communicate all rain outs/other cancellations to our local coordinators who then let the coaches know. Do not expect information on games to be posted before 3 as these volunteers have full time jobs.
Who do I contact if I have an issue?
Contact your local coordinator for issues that arise during season.
